Being Thankful!

We are thankful to be here in the Georgia Atlanta Mission, each week brings new experiences and meeting new people. The big project this week was the Jonesboro Sisters and the Spanish Sisters moving into a new apartment together. The mission has this down to a science, so on the appointed day Senior Missionary, Elder Kone, brought a Pickup trailer and four additional elders to help move from two apartments to one. Elder Kone took a selfie of the hard working moving drew.

Because of the Thanksgiving holiday and the two days to move, we had some meetings changed and cancelled.  I did have to drive the Elders and Sisters to various places a few times. Gramma found someone to do her hair in Fayetteville to we went there on Tuesday. On thanksgiving we were invited to Elder and Sister Michaels apartment in Fayetteville along with three other couples and President Clayton.

And of course we had to play a game afterwards (you all know how I love games).

Later that night we came home to a Face time call from Melissa and a Sister Despain just happened to be there so we got a good visit with her. We had a nice time singing again at the Golden Crest. With four new vocalists in our group we had a few new soloists and a good blend of Thanks Giving and Christmas music.

We were not the only group getting in the Christmas spirit, this group greeted us later that day at Sams Club.

Christmas is in the air, but the weather is so warm and nice this week it is a little hard to get in the flow. Gramma won't let a little warm weather dampen the season. She put this up at the end of the week.

And we have the only Christmas door wreath out of all the 210 apartments in our complex so far.

Saturday night was another choir practice for  Gramma for the Christmas ward party. But only one other sister made it. We decided everyone was worn out from Thanks Giving. Sunday was a busy day as usual and we had a appointment with the Sisters to teach someone in Hampton at 7:30,  but they were not home. It was a nice 30 minute drive each way, but we did have a good visit with the Sisters. Sister Strickland only has 30 days left and she is trying to work hard and end with some great experiences. We love all of you, pray for each of you everyday, and want you to know the Gospel is true. Enjoy the holiday season and take time to "Light the World" by sharing kindness in everything you do.   We  will try to do the same.  We do miss our family and love y"all very much!  Grampa and Gramma Hammond
